Start of SOC field work
Tomorrow we’re coming out of 3 weeks of quarantine in the Falklands to start installing our first SOC instruments in the newly built East Beach Hut, which is now ready and connected to power, thanks to everyone at Rothera!

Good news! Our Optical Particle Counter (OPC) has come back safe and sound from its trip on board the RRS James Clark Ross to Rothera and back. It has carried out Aerosol measurements of particles suspended in the air with size ranges between 0.35 and 10 micrometres (such as dust, sea salt etc).
